Helpful tools for writers

Here at the Writer’s Toolkit, we don’t believe there’s a single right way or wrong way to be creative.

How you write creatively is up to you. It’s your thing.

But since chaos is the heart of the creative process we do believe it needs to be harnessed.

Creativity is a bit like a nuclear reaction: A tremendous source of limitless energy, but you wouldn’t want it going off uncontrolled in your front room.

You want to harness that energy. Direct it to some useful purpose. Channel it.

Here you will find a variety of tools – links and reviews to helpful books and apps on storytelling and writing; pointers to sites across the web that hold a wealth of advice; and, which is what we hope makes us that little bit different, some strategies for the very hardest part of creative endeavour – managing oneself.

Yes. You’re often your own worst enemy when you should be your greatest ally. And then you’re not critical enough when you know another couple of hours would make all the difference. We know. We’ve done ’em all.

So, follow the links that interest you, leave us a comment when you find something useful. Have fun and never, ever, ever give up on yourself.

Happy Writing.

If you’ve just found this site welcome.  it’s in its early stages and there’s lots more pages to fill in the next few months. It would help us along greatly if you’d leave a word of encouragement if you’re looking forward to seeing what’s coming!
